An exhibition titled "Gods of Angkor: Treasures from Khmer Empire" opened at the Hunan Museum on September 17. Featuring over 150 artifacts (sets) from the National Museum of Cambodia, Angkor Conservation, Yunnan Provincial Museum, the Museum of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Shanghai Museum, and Hunan Museum, the exhibition guides visitors into the "world of the gods" of Khmer civilization.

From the 9th to the 15th century AD, the Khmer Empire, established by the Khmer people, was one of the most powerful regimes in Southeast Asia, with its territory covering vast areas of present-day Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and southern Vietnam. Because its capital was long located in Angkor, this period is also commonly referred to as the Angkorian Period or the Angkor Era. Lasting for over 600 years, it marked the most prosperous stage of Khmer civilization. In 1992, the Angkor site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Divided into several sections, the exhibition highlights the divine statues and stone carving art of the Angkor civilization. Using intricate patterns replicated from sandstone reliefs as the spatial background, it creates a mysterious and profound Angkorian atmosphere. The exhibits are rich and diverse in categories, covering stone and pottery ware, religious statues, architectural components, and metalware, systematically showcasing the artistic achievements of Khmer civilization.

Full-price ticket: 50 yuan/person
Concessionary ticket price: 25 yuan/person for students of, or under, full-time undergraduate programs; the elders between 60 and 65; and, people on subsistence allowances with their valid documents.
Ticket package: full-price at 80 yuan/person; concessionary price at 40 yuan/person (covering this exhibition and the "Dunhuang" exhibition)

Free admission groups:
Please present your original ID card or other valid documents qualifying for the free admission policy at the entrance to Special Exhibition Hall 2 to enter for free.
1. Children aged 14 and under are admitted free of charge. They must be accompanied by a ticket-purchasing adult, and each adult may accompany a maximum of two children.
2. Seniors aged 65 and above are admitted free of charge.
3. Military personnel in active service (including emergency rescue personnel) and their family members, veterans, retired military cadres, families of martyrs, families of military personnel who died while on duty, and families of military personnel who died of a disease may visit without a reservation upon verification of their original relevant documents.
4. Persons with disabilities may visit in person upon presentation of valid identification.
