An art exhibition on picture book illustrator Cai Gao opened to the public free of charge at the Tank Changsha (1936) on April 3, 2026. The exhibition is jointly organized by the Changsha Urban Development Culture and Tourism Group Co., Ltd. and the Hunan Juvenile & Children's Publishing House. The exhibition was undertaken by the Changsha Damei Culture Communication Co., Ltd., and was specially supported by the Cai Gao Studio at the Hunan Juvenile & Children's Publishing House.

On April 2, at the exhibition venue, many visitors slowed their pace to savor the charm of old Changsha illustrated in the paintings, as well as the healing power of childhood innocence. They posed for photos in front of the artworks with the industrial-style walls of Tank Changsha (1936) as a backdrop, capturing this unique artistic encounter.

Cai Gao mingled with the audience. She patiently explained the stories behind the paintings, sharing her experience of drawing creative inspiration from childhood and folk culture. "My creation has always been inseparable from life and the childlike heart within me. I hope to use my brush to retain that beauty and warmth, so that both adults and children can find resonance in the paintings."

Themed "Childlike innocence is like good weather," the exhibition draws on Cai Gao's creative picture books, carefully arranged into three theme chapters: "Childlike innocence in daily life," "Childlike innocence in stories," and "Childlike innocence in the home neighborhood." The exhibition highlights her representative works such as "Beautiful Chinese Folk Tales," "What Can You See in the Moon," "Blazing City 1938," and "How I Came to Be Me," inviting visitors to awaken the most precious innocence and beauty deep in their hearts during the exhibition tour.

On April 18, an in-person meet-and-greet with Cai Gao will also be held at the exhibition venue.
