September 23 this year marked Qiufen (Autumn Equinox), one of the 24 solar terms on Chinese lunar calendar, and also the ninth Chinese farmers' harvest festival. The Longping Rice Park in Changsha launched an annual harvest festival and a month-long science popularization themed event on that day.
