On September 16, Madagascar's Prime Minister Mamitiana Rajaonarison and his wife Madame Andriamanamfhaga visited Shibadong Village in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. They paid a visit to villager Shi Basan's home, listening to firsthand accounts of poverty alleviation.

After learning about the changes in her family life, Prime Minister Rajaonarison repeatedly said in Chinese, "Everyone is out of poverty!"

In an interview with the Voice of Hunan, the prime minister said that after coming to Shibadong Village and seeing the major historic achievements China has made in poverty alleviation, he deeply felt President Xi Jinping's love for the people. "This is also a great inspiration for us. I believe the Malagasy government will also carry out the similar practice in our own country to show our love for the people," he added.
