In the golden month of September, paddy rice has begun to ripen successively in the Ziquejie Terraced Fields in Xinhua County, Loudi City, Hunan Province. Spectacular terraced fields stretch layer upon layer along the mountains, winding and undulating, blending with village houses and lush green mountains to paint a vibrant and picturesque scene of mountain farming.
With a history of over 2,000 years of cultivation, the Ziquejie Terraced Fields have been thriving thanks to the natural gravity-fed irrigation system. In recent years, the local authority has continued to protect this farming cultural heritage and develop rural cultural tourism based on the ecological resources of the terraced fields, breathing new life into the ancient terraced fields and empowering rural revitalization through scenic ecological beauty.
