The Hunan Tea Industry Expo is a key provincial-level, professional exhibition approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government. Entering its 18th session, this year's expo will expand the exhibition area to 30,000 square meters, bringing together delegations from Hunan's 13 cities and one autonomous prefecture, 58 key tea-producing counties across the province, alongside delegations of 50 core tea-growing regions from Fujian, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and beyond. A dedicated Hunan-Taiwan tea exchange zone will be set up to welcome quality Taiwanese tea brands and enhance cross-Strait trade and cultural ties.
The expo will feature seven specialized zones covering premium teas, new business modes for tea deep processing, smart tea production equipment, tea-themed culture creations and tourism, tea ware collections, tea R&D achievements, and cross-industry full-chain integration. A number of tea-themed events will be launched, including the "Coordinated Tea Development of Tea Culture, Industry, and Technology" county-level promotion campaign, the "Shennong Cup" tea quality assessment and Hunan tea contest, and a conference on food-medicine homology and tea healing and wellness. A series of public-benefit activities will also be offered, such as tea culture exhibitions and performances, parent-child study tours at the expo, and China-chic tea culture experience.
This year's expo presents a key opportunity for Hunan tea to expand its reach and break new ground through cross-sector integration and industrial upgrading, said Zhou Chongwang, president of the Hunan Tea Industry Association. The event will help boost tea culture prosperity, tea industry upgrading, and tea technological progress, enhancing quality and efficiency in Hunan's 100-billion-CNY tea industry, while contributing to consolidating the achievements of poverty alleviation and promoting rural revitalization.
