On September 3, Arlindo do Rosário, ambassador of Cape Verde to China, and his wife arrived at Yongzhou Lingling Airport in Hunan for a three-day visit.

In this July, football fans of the Yongzhou team wrote an open letter to the Cape Verde national team, expressing their empathy for the grassroots fighting spirit shared by both sides. Ambassador Arlindo do Rosário replied to the letter in both Chinese and English, leaving a memorable line, "Forever may be far, but Yongzhou is not," and looked forward to playing a friendly football match and exchanging skills with the Yongzhou team in the future.
