On August 31, a special event for the "African Mothers' New Farm" project was held in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The Hunan Women's Federation and the Office of the First Lady of Mozambique will cooperate in such areas as women's skills training, agricultural production, entrepreneurship and employment, helping Mozambican women enhance their development capacity.

Mozambican First Lady Gueta Chapo noted that women are a vital force in Mozambique's agricultural production, family life, and economic and social development. She expressed her hope that through the project, knowledge, technology, and production capacity will be transformed into development opportunities that are truly accessible to women.

"We want not only to provide women with what they need today, but also to help them acquire knowledge, capabilities, and means of livelihood so that they can build their own future," Gueta Chapo said.

Wang Junshou, member of the Standing Committee and secretary general of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, expressed his hope that through platforms such as the "African Mothers' New Farm," representatives of Mozambican women's organizations and women entrepreneurs will be invited to Hunan to exchange experiences in women's development. Women from Mozambique and Hunan will jointly discuss opportunities and challenges, build consensus through dialogue, and share win-win results through collaboration, injecting a steady stream of women's empowerment into the joint development of Hunan and Mozambique.

Yang Lanying, chairperson of the Hunan Women's Federation, introduced that the "African Mothers' New Farm" project centers on women's empowerment and aims at poverty reduction and development. Through a working mechanism of government facilitation, technological support, enterprise participation, and social coordination, the project aims to promote women's employment, skills training, and family development. In 2025, the project was implemented in Madagascar and Kenya, providing employment and training for more than a thousand women.

Chairperson Yang said, "We hope that this project can provide African women with tangible support, enabling them to acquire skills, find jobs, and increase their incomes. The project can help their families escape poverty and improve their lives, making life better day by day, so that women's poverty reduction can become a tangible reality,"
