Lillian Cheong Man-lei, under secretary of Hong Kong Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, noted in her speech that Hunan boasts a solid manufacturing foundation and diverse industrial scenarios, while Hong Kong offers strengths in R&D, international market access, and financing services. She welcomed Hunan's high-quality tech-innovation and advanced manufacturing businesses to leverage Hong Kong's platforms to push forward R&D, brand building, and global expansion, jointly forging a new cooperation pathway featuring "smart manufacturing on the mainland, empowerment from Hong Kong, and global connectivity."
"Hong Kong's value as a platform is beyond doubt," said Li Zexiang, a professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and founder of XbotPark. He noted that Hong Kong aligns with international standards in culture, language, law, and finance, offering Hunan's industrial entities valuable opportunities to tap into the global market.
During the promotion session, participating enterprise representatives from home and abroad turned their attention to frontier sectors including advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, new energy, and smart environmental technologies. Showcasing their core innovations, they hoped to seek global opportunities for technology partnerships, capital collaboration, and market expansion.
The event was co-hosted by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the CCPIT Hunan Sub-Council, and the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area.
