On the morning of August 24, at the entry-exit service counter of the Yueyang Municipal Government Service Center, a personal affairs residence permit endorsed with "Entrepreneurship" was granted to Wang Peiwen, a 25-year-old Malaysian student. This marks Yueyang's first "Entrepreneurship Visa" for foreign nationals, and also the first "Entrepreneurship Pass" offered by the Lingang High-tech Zone to young international talent.

Wang is a postgraduate student majoring in journalism and communication at Central South University. Upon graduation, she set her sights on trade, instead of following the conventional career path into the media industry. She has a clear plan—to register a trading company in the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Yueyang Area and provide one-stop export services for inputs for agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery to ASEAN countries including Malaysia and Thailand.

"I didn't choose Yueyang by chance," said Wang. Her family has long been active in international trade, with shipments going overseas via Chenglingji Port every month, creating a solid resource foundation over the years. With the port's logistics advantages, the FTZ policy benefits, and the new cargo air route between Yueyang and Kuala Lumpur opened earlier this year, she saw growing opportunities in Yueyang and decided to take this familiar trade route as the starting point of her own business. Now, with the "Entrepreneurship Visa," she is legally permitted to start her own business in Yueyang.

This visa reflects the provincial and city-level efforts in recent years to create a more friendly environment for foreign talents to start businesses in Hunan and Yueyang. The "Entrepreneurship Visa" is primarily designed for fresh international graduates from Chinese universities. After submitting the application materials, the applicant will undergo a comprehensive review by relevant authorities, and then be granted a visa and  entrepreneurship support upon the approval from the entry-exit administration. 

A visa has launched a Malaysian girl's "trade dream" from Yueyang. "I aim to build my company into a benchmark small-scale agricultural export business for young foreign entrepreneurs," Wang said when speaking of her future goals.

 
Today, Lingang High-tech Zone — an open land of opportunity —is offering new entrepreneurial prospects for international youth chasing startup dreams.
