Changsha Customs announced on August 16 that in the first seven months of this year, Hunan's construction machinery exports reached 24.73 billion CNY, up 26.2% over the same period last year.

Changsha's exports of construction machinery during January-July period rose 26.4% to 22.47 billion CNY, accounting for more than 90% of the province's total exports. Loudi and Changde followed with steady export performance, reaching 1.16 billion CNY and 690 million CNY and ranking second and third, respectively. Yongzhou, Yiyang, and Chenzhou posted rapid growth, surging 14.2-fold, 2.9-fold, and 1.2-fold, respectively.

Over this period, Hunan's exports of construction machinery to the Belt and Road partner countries reached 20.01 billion CNY, up 28.6% year on year, representing more than 80% of the provincial total. Crawler excavators and mobile concrete mixers were among the most sought-after products overseas, with export values of 4.64 billion CNY and 1.87 billion CNY, up 50.9% and 43.2%, respectively.

With breakthroughs in both emerging and high-end markets, the market landscape for Hunan's construction machinery exports is undergoing a profound adjustment. Driven by infrastructure investment and mineral development, demand for mining equipment and construction machinery continued to grow in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, becoming a key driver of export growth. Leveraging technological upgrades and cost-performance advantages, domestically-produced equipment has gained a foothold in high-end markets such as Europe, posting robust growth and markedly strengthening export resilience.

Hunan's construction machinery exports are shifting from "quantitative growth" to "qualitative enhancement." Green equipment, including electric excavators, electric loaders, and new-energy mining trucks, leads the charge in export growth, far outpacing the industrial average and emerging as a new engine of growth.
