The 2026 summer travel rush began on July 1. The Changsha Huanghua International Airport has newly launched the "fly via Changsha with free door-to-door luggage delivery." This service establishes a two-way luggage delivery link between the airport and Changsha city proper. Passengers departing from Changsha can check their luggage in advance at downtown service points, while those arriving in Changsha can have their luggage delivered directly to their doorstep. This enables passengers to travel light and freely explore the Star City.
"Traveling with kids means a ton of luggage. I never expected to go hands-free the entire time when flying from Changsha, and the service is free—it's incredibly thoughtful!" At the airport, a traveler from Xi'an couldn't stop praising the initiative. On this trip, he and his wife were traveling with their child and three large pieces of luggage, making it difficult to manage the child and drag the bags. Before departure, they booked the door-to-door luggage service online by scanning a dedicated QR code. After landing, they didn't need to wait at the baggage carousel or struggle with heavy luggage while supervising their child during the transfer. When they arrived at their hotel to check in, all their luggage had already been safely delivered, completely eliminating the fatigue of "picking up luggage upon arrival and hauling it on the go."

Changsha Airport staff explained that the service accepts online booking via QR code scanning, and also features offline counters at the terminals to accommodate different passenger needs. The airport has set up dedicated service counters in the baggage claim hall of both the T1 and T2 terminals. Passengers arriving in Changsha can collect their luggage and process delivery on-site; international arrivals can visit the International Visitor Service Center at the T2 arrivals level to make a booking. The delivery area covers the five main urban districts of Furong, Tianxin, Yuelu, Yuhua, and Kaifu, including residences, hotels, scenic spots, commercial areas, and transportation hubs, catering to the diverse travel needs of tourists and business travelers alike. The specific deliverable areas and service scope are subject to the real-time selection available in the mini-program.
For passengers departing from Changsha by air, the airport has established offline service points at the check-in areas of the Changsha Huanghua International Airport at the Wanjiali International Shopping Plaza and the Wuyi Square Metro Station, as well as the Changsha South High-speed Railway Station Air-rail Intermodal Transport Center, open daily from 8:30 to 16:30 for luggage drop-off. Passengers only need to place orders at least four hours in advance to have their luggage delivered to the designated area at the airport on time, enabling them to check luggage early in the city proper and catch their flights hands-free. The airport will also continue expanding service points to universities, commercial areas, key enterprises, and cultural tourism areas, steadily broadening the comprehensive public service network.

This free door-to-door luggage delivery service will run until December 31, 2026. Each individual can check up to three pieces of compliant luggage for free, accommodating scenarios such as family trips during the summer travel season and long-distance business travel. The service strictly adheres to the corresponding airlines' free baggage allowance standards, with a maximum single-piece weight of 20 kg. The downtown and high-speed rail service points can accept large suitcases up to 32 inches.
Passengers arriving in Changsha booking the service online should note that the flight arrival time must be between 9:00 and 18:30, and they need to provide flight and luggage details, as well as upload photos of their luggage. For drop-offs at the terminal offline counters, the operating hours are from 9:00 to 19:00. To ensure timely service, passengers can call the 24-hour consultation hotlines at 13397511766 or 18684843888.
