The 6th Hunan Tourism Development Conference kicked off in Xiangtan City on June 27. Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province; Mao Wanchun, chairperson of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee; and Xie Weijiang, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee met with some guests attending the conference.

Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, extended a warm welcome to the guests and expressed gratitude for their long-standing care and support for Hunan. He noted that tourism is a sunrise industry, as well as an industry that enriches the people and brings them happiness.

In recent years, Hunan has thoroughly implemented the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions regarding Hunan's work, striving to effectively address the "two integrations" of culture and technology, and culture and tourism. With "Red Tourism" as the theme of this year's conference, Hunan—with profound respect and deep affection for Mao Zedong and other veteran proletarian revolutionaries—is committed to protecting and making effective use of its Red resources. The province has launched Red study tours themed "My Trip to Shaoshan," continuously deepening the integrated development of "Red Plus," and making significant efforts in inheriting and promoting "revolutionary culture."

Hunan will adhere to the principles of organizing the conference with a greater emphasis on practical results, sustainable development, market-oriented operations, improvement of people's livelihoods, public participation, green ecology, investment efficiency, and frugality, thereby further enhancing the catalytic impact of the conference. Secretary Shen expressed the hope that everyone will continue to care for and support Hunan, offer valuable suggestions for the high-quality development of Hunan's tourism industry, and share the opportunities for development. Hunan will provide better services to support the development of cultural and tourism enterprises in the province.

Duan Qiang, president of the China Tourism Association; Chen Zhenlian, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles; and Zheng Hao, vice chairman and secretary-general of the World Tourism Alliance, delivered speeches as guest representatives. They noted that Hunan is rich in cultural and tourism resources and has achieved significant results in promoting the development of its tourism industry in recent years through hosting tourism development conferences. They hoped to deepen cooperation and exchanges with Hunan, share experiences and best practices, further explore the province's traditional culture, revolutionary culture, and local culture, and leverage the strengths of their respective platforms, continuously enriching the supply of tourism products, and better meeting the public's diverse cultural and tourism needs.

Provincial leaders Liu Hongbing, Wu Guiying, and Jiang Difei attended the meeting.

On that day, attendees toured Xiangtan's key cultural tourism projects, and Xiangtan City presented its cultural tourism resources.
