At 20:40 on May 16, Zhejiang Loong Airlines Flight GJ8998, which departed from Singapore, completed its transfer at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport and continued its journey to Hangzhou, marking the successful launch of the domestic segment of the "Singapore–Zhangjiajie–Hangzhou" international flight. This is the first international connecting flight route launched by Zhangjiajie in nearly two years.

With the launch of the domestic segment of this flight, international passengers can complete health quarantine and customs inspection of hand luggage in Zhangjiajie before clearing customs. Checked baggage can be directly checked through to Hangzhou without the need for re-checking, significantly reducing transfer time and making cross-border travel more convenient and efficient. Meanwhile, the route's domestic segment can carry regular domestic passengers, better utilizing flight capacity and improving load factors and operational efficiency.
The Zhangjiajie Customs Authority proactively provided dedicated services, connected with airlines to explain supervisory policies, offered one-on-one guidance on the application process, and implemented a "remote inspection + intelligent image recognition" model for checked baggage to enhance baggage clearance efficiency. The Zhangjiajie Customs Authority also established a collaborative mechanism with the Hangzhou Airport Customs Authority and signed an agreement on supervisory cooperation measures for the domestic segment of the "Singapore–Zhangjiajie–Hangzhou" international flight, clarifying detailed rules for the customs clearance and supervision of aircraft, passengers, and baggage.
In the first four months of this year, the Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport handled 153,000 entry-exit passenger trips, a year-on-year increase of 6%.
