Hu Xusheng, deputy director of the Stading Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, met in Changsha with Morakane Mosupyoe, speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in South Africa, and her delegation.

Hu welcomed the guests, noting that South Africa is Hunan's largest trading partner in Africa. He expected that Hunan and Gauteng, as a pair of friendship provinces, will deepen economic and trade ties, expand exchange visits, enhance cooperation across various fields, and strengthen friendly exchanges between local legislative bodies, so as to make new and greater contributions to building a high-level China-South Africa community with a shared future.

Morakane Mosupyoe spoke highly of Hunan's achievements in economic and social development. She expressed her hope that the two provinces will enhance exchanges and cooperation, working together to realize the shared vision for development.

Following the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress and the Gauteng Provincial Legislature reached a memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation.

On the morning of March 19, the two sides held discussions focusing on legislative and oversight work.
