As the annual National Day and Mid-Autumn Day holiday approaches, Hunan's ports are bracing for a travel peak. According to the Hunan General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, during this holiday, the ports around the province are expected to handle 40,000 inbound and outbound trips and over 250 inbound and outbound passenger flights, both of which are estimated to increase 6% over last year.

The Changsha port operates international passenger flights to 11 cities across ten countries, including London, Nairobi, and Bangkok. During the holiday, Changsha is expected to handle 27,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips and more than 150 flights, with an average daily passenger flow of about 3,400 trips.

Peak periods will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., while peak days are expected on October 3, 4, and 6. The average daily number of inbound and outbound passenger trips is estimated to reach 4,000 on the peak days.

International passenger flights from Zhangjiajie port reach nine destinations in six countries and regions, including Seoul, Hanoi, and Hong Kong. During the holiday, 12,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips and over 100 flights are expected, with peak periods taking place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following day. Peak days will fall on October 1, 4, and 8, with over 2,200 inbound and outbound passenger trips on daily average.

The Hunan General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection remind travelers to:

First, make preparations prior to departure. Travelers are advised to gather information about safety, climate, epidemic diseases, traffic, and inbound policies at their destinations through official channels; carefully check the inbound and outbound certificates and related documents; and, make travel reasonable plans.

Second, ensure adequate time. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport two hours in advance for check-in, border inspection and other procedures, especially at Changsha and Zhangjiajie international airports, to avoid missing flights.

Third, follow the inspection instructions. Passengers should undergo border inspections in an orderly fashion under the guidance of customs officers through manual channels, fast-track channels, and designated channels for Chinese citizens, foreigners, and other groups.

Fourth, travelers may call the National Immigration Administration's 12367 service platform (offering 24/7 multilingual operator support in Chinese, English, Russian, Japanese, and Korean) for inbound policy inquiry, or consult on-duty officers at the scene.
