Hunan's Intelligent Manufacturing in National Top-tier Rank

An "Intelligent Manufacturing Promotion in Industrial Parks" event, as a part of the week-long college student startups service event, was held in Hengyang on September 18. A report on Hunan's intelligent manufacturing sector was released on the site. 


According to the report, Hunan has entered the national top-tier rank in the overall strength of intelligent manufacturing sector, with its number of intelligent manufacturers, construction of production lines, and supply of system solutions achieving remarkable results.

As of the end of August, Hunan has 3,015 intelligent manufacturers, 4,920 intelligent production lines and workshops, and 34,309 intelligent work positions. Meanwhile, the province has recognized 43 provincial-level benchmark enterprises and 149 benchmark workshops in intelligent manufacturing, and 491 basic-level and 174 advanced-level smart factories. Seventeen enterprises have been shortlisted for the national excellent-level smart factories, ranking among the highest around the country. 

The supply capacity continues to strengthen. Hunan has released six batches of recommended suppliers of intelligent manufacturing system solutions, with the total number of shortlisted enterprises reaching 263. Twenty-one enterprises have been selected as outstanding system solution suppliers, and 16 included in the national initative to select the best candidates to undertake key projects through open competitions. These figures have demonstrated the continuously enhanced capabilities of Hunan in intelligent manufacturing technology and services.

Hunan has organized 22 "Intelligent Manufacturing Promotions in Industrial Parks" events for five consecutive years, providing free advice for more than 160 enterprises provincewide and offering intellectual support to digitalization transformation of the enterprises.  


During the activity, intelligent manufacturing experts probed into seven leading enterprises of chemistry and equipment manufacturing in Hengyang. They focused on such pain points as data collection, flexible production line upgrade, and supply chain and logistics coordination, rolling out diagnostic reports and giving feedbacks on the site. These will help the enterprises map out their upgrading paths and implementation steps.

Eleven projects were signed at the event, covering intelligent manufacturing renovation, digitalization transformation, and industry-education integration areas, and major orientations like smart factory construction, intelligent renovation and upgrading, digital twin, and university-enterprise joint entrepreneurship and innovation bases.
