Xinjiang-to-Hunan Coal Transport Special Train Launched

2025-09-05 Download Print

A special train fully loaded with thermal coal from Xinjiang pulled out of the Changsha New Port on September 4, heading forward power plants across Hunan Province along the Special Railway Line of the port. This marks the official launch of a new rail-water intermodal transport route for thermal coal, jointly developed by the Changsha Railway Logistics Center and the Changsha New Port. This initiative injects fresh momentum into the implementation of the national "North-to-South Coal Transport" initiative, guarantee of regional energy supply, and logistics cost reduction and efficiency improvement. With the adjustment of the national energy strategy and the optimization of transportation structure in recent years, Xinjiang's coal resource has become a critical implement to Hunan's energy sources.
