On the morning of September 2, the WTA International Women's Tennis Event (Changsha Wangcheng), part of the 2025 Changsha Open Series, opened at the Moon Island Red Clay Tennis Park in Changsha.

According to the organizing committee, the event features two categories: women's singles and women's doubles. The women's singles main draw consists of 32 players, while the women's doubles draw features 16 teams. The matches are played on outdoor red clay courts and will continue until September 6.

The lineup for the event is impressive. Players such as Gao Xinyu and Wei Sijia, who recently competed in this year's US Open, along with Ma Yexin and other prominent players, affectionately known as the "golden flowers" of Chinese tennis, have started their China season in Wangcheng. Many internationally renowned players, including Carle, Diaz, Timofeeva, and Friedsam, have also gathered in Wangcheng.
