A Lao banana company officially set up a preposition warehouse at the Huaihua International Land Port Intelligent Cold-chain Digital Logistics Center on September 2, Thus, the company became the first foreign supplier of cold-chain products to start up this type of operation in Huaihua. 

This initiative will help build the Huaihua International Land Port into a China-ASEAN cold-chain logistics hub, ensuring the regular operation of China-Laos Railway cold-chain freight trains.

Huaihua is the only ASEAN-oriented freight and distribution center in Hunan Province. Since entering into a comprehensive cooperation with the Huaihua International Land Port Changhuai Cold Chain Company, the company has transported bananas from Vientiane to Huaihua via the China-Laos Railway. In August, 80 shipping containers of bananas were delivered via the cold-chain freight trains, followed by an additional order of 100 containers in early September. A stable and efficient cross-border logistics channel has taken shape, significantly reducing both transportation time and costs.

This collaboration helps advance the regular operation of cold-chain freight trains on the China-Laos Railway. Currently, such trains operate at a stable frequency of more than twice per week, with each train carrying no fewer than 10 containers. The Huaihua International Land Port is gradually becoming a distribution hub specializing in Lao bananas, expanding its business across the central and southwestern regions, and even all of China, further consolidating its orientation as the "first access" for ASEAN fresh produce to enter China.

Another Lao company is also negotiating with the Changhuai Cold Chain Company. The company conducted a trial delivery of ten containers of bananas last month, and is expected to enter a comprehensive cooperation this month, further expanding the cold-chain transportation scale on China-Laos Railway.

In the future, with continuous improvement of the cold-chain logistics network on China-Laos Railway, Huaihua International Land Port is expected to become a pivotal hub for distribution, allocation, and trading of cold-chain products from ASEAN, driving high-level opening-up in inland regions of China.
