The 9th FIAP Photo Meeting opened in Changsha on August 23. The event was jointly organized by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the China Artistic Photography Society, the Foreign Affairs Office of Hunan Provincial People's Government, and the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. More than 300 photographers from around the world attended the opening ceremony. Jiang Difei, vice governor of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and Riccardo Busi, president of the International Federation of Photographic Art, attended the event and delivered speeches.

The photo meeting featured a series of activities including the opening ceremony and an international photo exhibition. Photographers from around the world will participate in an expedition tour titled "Discover Hunan" in Changsha, Zhangjiajie, and Xiangxi Tujia & Miao Autonomous Prefecture, as well as other places. Through their camera lenses, they may capture Hunan's urban landscapes, ethnic customs, and natural scenery, presenting a magnificent painting to the international community.

Jiang Difei noted that the photo meeting was part of the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting. Hunan is deeply honored to host the event. In the new era, Hunan is embracing a more open and innovative approach, striving to build itself into a hub of reform and opening-up in inland regions and writing a new chapter of revitalization and transformation. He expressed his hope that photographers would capture Hunan's natural beauty and cultural richness through their lenses, thereby contributing to the promotion of mutual learning and exchanges among civilizations.

Riccardo Busi remarked that the photo meeting has brought together 315 photographers from 40 countries, exploring Hunan's picturesque landscapes and profound cultural heritage, and fostering exchanges and integration of arts and culture between the East and the West.
