The 2025 Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Symposium on Engineering Science and Technology & the 12th International Symposium of Food Science opened in Changsha on August 9. Hunan Vice Governor Li Jianzhong attended.
As a key element in rural revitalization, the agricultural products processing and storage industry plays a vital role in enhancing agricultural efficiency, increasing farmers' incomes, and building a beautiful countryside. Under the theme of "Promoting Beautiful Countryside Construction and Accelerating Development of the Agricultural Products Processing and Storage Industry," the conference featured 48 sessions and over 500 presentations. Renowned experts and scholars from around the world were invited to participate, focusing on critical topics such as the modernization of agricultural products processing and storage, pathways for high-quality development in the food industry, and strategies for nutritional safety assessment and intervention. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on technological innovation and future development strategies for the agricultural products processing, storage, and food industries.
During the conference, the inaugural ceremony of the English journal Agricultural Products Processing and Storage, published by Springer Nature and founded by the Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, was held alongside a signing ceremony with the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST). The events aimed to provide a high-quality exchange platform for cutting-edge research in the science of agricultural products processing and storage technology, and to create a world-class academic publication in the agricultural field. Additionally, the "Top Ten Hot Scientific and Technological Issues in the Field of Food Science" were also released at the conference to foster innovation and advancement in food science.
