On July 25, the 2024 Changsha Dexin Cup and International Friendship City Youth Football Tournament kicked off at the Dosun Sports Football Park, Yuhua District, Changsha.

This tournament is designed for the U11 age group and will run until July 28. A total of 201 young football players from China, Japan, and South Korea gathered on the football field to build a bridge of friendship through sports and to present an international youth campus football celebration.
 
The event was sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau and the Changsha Municipal People's Government; undertaken by the Hunan Football Association; co-organized by the Changsha Municipal Sports Bureau, the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, the People's Government of Yuhua District, and the Changsha Football Association; and, operated by the Hunan Dosun Sports Brokerage Co., Ltd.

To date, Changsha has established friendship city relationship or friendly economic and trade cooperation ties with 58 cities. Holding youth football tournaments is aimed at builing a bridge between Changsha and its friendship cities worldwide to convey friendship, enhance understanding, and promote development. The initiative has also facilitated the development of Changsha's economy, society, culture, sports and other undertakings, and helped the city create a model city for national sports and fitness.
 
During the tournament period, the organizing committee has also arranged a sightseeing tour around Changsha, allowing players to view the statue of the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong and experience the Hunan culture.
