From September 23 to October 6, the Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town Scenic Area hosts the fourth Mid-Autumn Festival Lantern Carnival and the first Tongguan Tang-style Garden Party. With "appreciating lanterns" and "taking part in a garden party" as the main attractions, tourists can get an immersive experience of the culture of the Tang era (618-907). Three spectacular scenes, namely Phoenixes on the Moon, Mid-Autumn Festival Literati Gathering and Traditional Chinese Music Event, are recreated to create a strong festival atmosphere. Tourists can also watch a spectacular show of "iron flower" spraying. The 1,000-year-old traditional performance, called "Datiehua" in Chinese, is part of the country's national intangible cultural heritage. They can also appreciate a stunning Tongguan water show.
