The first Vocational Skills Competition of Hunan Province lowed its curtain on July 6 evening. A total of 1,087 participators of 35 delegations, who came from 13 cities and 1 prefecture around the province and worked in 21 industrial sectors, competed in 55 events. Finally, 62 gold, 62 silver, and 62 bronze medals were granted.

During the closing ceremony, several representatives of the "Craftsmen of the Nation", winners of national vocational skills competitions, and specially invited guests from all walks of life around the province presented medals to the champions.

Honored titles of "Vocational Master", "Youth Vocational Master", and "Female Vocational Master" of Hunan Province were awarded to the top three qualified contestants. The champions were granted with the honor of "May 1st Labor Medal" by the Hunan Federation of Trade Unions. The contestants winning prizes can get a direct promotion to a second-class technician or vocational qualification, and those who have yet possessed the second-class qualification can be promoted to a higher level. 

Arts performances were also staged at the opening ceremony.
