The 14th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo (CMGE) will be held at the Chenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center between May 15 and 19, 2026. The theme of this year's expo is "Dinosaurs Soaring into the Blue Sky—The Mineral Kingdom of the Dinosaur World," the press conference announced on April 13, 2026.

The expo will cover an exhibition area of approximately 60,000 square meters and features 1,200 international standard booths. There will be four major themed exhibition zones: the Minerals, Crystals, Fossils, and Meteorites Zone; the Colored Gemstones Zone; the Art Crafts Zone; and the Ornamental Stones Zone. Rare minerals and crystals, top-quality gemstones, rare fossils, and distinctive artisanal masterpieces from around the world will be presented here. Additionally, a major highlight will be the immersive dinosaur-themed exhibition zone, which boasts the world's only fossil of an enantiornithine bird preserved in amber, as well as amber-encased fossilized chrysanthemums and other globally rare specimens. The zone will also showcase the "dinosaur-to-bird" evolutionary sequence fossils, highly realistic dinosaur skeletons, and various types of exceptionally well-preserved fossils. This will offer a panoramic view of the evolution and the wonders of life on the Earth.

A multi-dimensional activities integrating academic+trade+scientific popularization+cultural tourism will be established at the expo. In addition to the opening ceremony, the national museum symposium, and the scientific popularization lectures by academicians, the classic "no reserve price" mineral crystal auction will continue to adopt an open bidding format. Concurrently, various themed cultural tourism routes will be meticulously designed to link the exhibition, geological wonders, cultural landscapes, and unique experiences into a cohesive chain. A "little geologist" educational experience program will be created for children aged 5–10, featuring a fun interactive session where participants can excavate simulated dinosaur fossils. A culture, art, and painting exhibition and a mini-exhibition will also be launched.

Since the CMGE was permanently established in Chenzhou in 2015, the city has successfully hosted thirteen sessions. The expo has become an important window for Chenzhou's opening up to the outside world, a core platform for the upgrading of the mineral and gemstone industry, and a shining calling card for international cultural and scientific exchange.
