A Bird’s-eye View of Changde German Town

2017-02-21 Download Print

The photo taken on Feb. 20, 2017 shows citizens are shopping at a town styled after the German city of Hannover, which is situated by Chunzi River in Changde City.

The town, which occupies 47,600 sqm, has 16 individual buildings with German characteristics. It has reproduced the old buildings of Hannover in 1930s. The main part of the German-style town is a 450-metre-long shopping avenue. 58 German businesses at the avenue have opened to the public last October.

The town is now serving not only as a platform of the city to showcase its economy as well as to host foreign affairs, but also a popular destination for Changde residents to shop and enjoy themselves.
