On July 28, the 2019 Hunan Lower-income Areas High-quality Agricultural Products Trade Fair opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.
Wu Lan, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended the opening ceremony. Wu presented an appointment letter and medal to Wang Hanzhong, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Wang was  the ‘Hunan Canola Oil’ technical consultant.
Ye Zhenqing, standing committee member of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and Sui Zhongcheng, vice governor of Hunan Province, addressed the ceremony.

This year the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government has set goals of lifting 600,000 people out of poverty in 2019 and by the end of next year, end poverty in the province. The trade fair theme is “Agricultural Products Branding Development to Promote Poverty Alleviation”. It aims to drive the sound industrial development in poorer areas, and serves as a bridge for high-quality agricultural products trading between Hunan and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Seventy-eight cooperation agreements worth more than 1.8 billion CNY were inked at the opening ceremony. This will help inject new impetus into Hunan poverty alleviation efforts.

The trade fair lasts until July 30. One promotional area and 13 exhibition areas were set up to showcase thousands of high-quality agricultural products produced by more than 600 companies. The exhibits include canola oil, tea oil, black tea, Anhua dark tea, fruits, vegetables, bamboo products, aquatic products, grain, Chinese herbal medicines, and livestock products. Hunan’s achievements in industrial and e-commerce poverty alleviation are also on display. Nine agricultural products promotional activities will be held.

Vice Governor Sui said that more than 3,600 products were awarded the Hunan provincial “three qualities labels and one mark” certifications. Hunan has clear advantages in such agricultural industries as grain, oil, tea, vegetables, fruits, livestock, aquatic products, Chinese herbal medicines and bamboo products. The agricultural products in lower-income areas have local characteristics.
Sui added that Shenzhen has demand for agricultural products and a favorable location. Due to these, the trade fair will help increase Hunan products sales in other areas and provide a strong support to increase and stabilize lower income people’s income growth.

After the opening ceremony, Wu Lan and her entourage visited the exhibition hall. Wu also inspected Shenzhen Berly-Mart, Kingdee, and other enterprises.
