1st Hengyang International Marathon Kicks off

The 1st Hunan Hengyang International Marathon kicked off on March 31 morning. A total of 15,000 racers from more than 100 cities in dozens of countries participated. 
These are the champions of the 2019 Hunan Hengyang International Marathon:
Men’s full marathon: Kenneth Kibiwott, Kenya, 02:21:52
Women’s full marathon: Muriuki Jane Wanjiu, Kenya, 02:52:30
Men’s half marathon: Li Chunhui, China
Women’s half marathon: Yin Xiaoyu, China
There were three courses: a 42.195-km full marathon; a 21.0975-km half marathon, and a 5-km road race. The racers ran through Hengyang’s landmarks and major scenic spots, including Lingxian County ancient city ruins (origin of Hengyang), Hengyang University, Zhuhui Tower, Binjiang New Area, Chashan’ao, a national livable town; and along the Xiangjiang and Leishui Rivers. 
Drumming, square dancing, cheerleading, and guitar performances enlivened the race and encouraged the racers. 
The marathon was hosted by the Chinese Athletic Association, the Hunan Sports Bureau, and Hengyang Municipal People’s Government. It is a national A-class competition.
