2018 Silk Road Industry and Business Leaders (Zhangjiajie) Summit Concluded

The 2018 Silk Road Industry and Business Leaders (Zhangjiajie) Summit concluded with successful results on October 16, 2018. More than 400 government representatives, diplomatic envoys in China, leaders of international organizations, and entrepreneurs from 84 “Belt and Road” countries and regions, including Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, and Germany, attended. A series of cooperation agreement documents on tourism, economy and trade, and health were issued. This will have a positive influence on deepening the “Belt and Road” international exchanges and collaboration.

 

The participants had in-depth discussions on building a community of shared future for the integrated development of international industry and commerce; strengthening international tourism cooperation; building a safe international business environment; the “Belt and Road” brand building; and, innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine. The 2018 Silk Road Industry and Business Leaders Summit Zhangjiajie Consensus was reached.

 

Fifty-five domestic and overseas cities, provinces, and states such as Zhangjiajie, Guilin, Athens, and Longreach has formed the “Silk Road Friendly City Collaborative Community”. According to the agreement, each member city will strengthen personnel exchanges and economic and trade cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative; share urban governance experiences; work together to improve the urban governance level; properly respond to the opportunities and challenges faced in the process of urban development and construction; and carry out pragmatic cooperation in the fields of cultural tourism and economic and trade investment.

 

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Human Health Zhangjiajie Consensus, Brand Evaluation of Tourism Destinations international standards proposal, and Tourism Destination Brand Development Strategies were also issued.
