139 Medical Workers Supporting Virus-hit Wuhan Return to Hunan

At 17: 55 p.m. on March 30, 139 medical workers supporting virus-hit Wuhan City of Hubei returned home by G4155 bullet train after finishing their tasks.

The returned medical workers this time include: 132 medical team members of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University who left for Wuhan on February 8 to participate in the treatment of critically ill patients; and, 7 members of the first psychological medical team sent to Wuhan on February 21 (other 43 psychological medical team members returned to Hunan on March 22).

The national medical rescue team of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University went to Wuhan on February 8, the day of the Lantern Festival. They took over the West Area B7 of Tongji Hospital Sino-French New Town Branch, engaging in the treatment of critically ill COVID-19 patients.

After a 50-day race against time to battle the epidemic, all hospitalized patients were discharged on March 28. Statistics show that the medical team had treated a total of 86 critically ill patients, 68 of whom recovered and were discharged and others transferred to other hospitals. No medical staff were infected.
