Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe visited Shaoshan City and Xiangtan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Xiangtan City on February 12, 2020. Governor Xu hosted an epidemic prevention and control dispatch meeting at the Hunan Provincial Health Commission.

On February 12, Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe came to Shaoshan City and Xiangtan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Xiangtan City, to learn about production of materials related to epidemic prevention and enterprise’s production resumption. He then held an epidemic prevention and control dispatching meeting at the Hunan Provincial Health Commission.

Governor Xu and his entourage visited the Xialong Medical Device Production Base in Shaoshan, a branch of Hunan Yourfield Special Protective Equipment Co., Ltd., and inspected the medical protective clothing sewing and sterilization workshops. He asked enterprises to base themselves on the current situation; race against the clock; strictly check safety and health standards; and, step up production to guarantee sufficient supply of materials for epidemic prevention and control. He called for looking at the long-term development; making up the shortcomings of the upstream and downstream industries; and, contributing to the medical and health industrial development and the public health emergency management system improvement.

He also visited enterprises like Time Varying Transmission Co., Ltd. to know about enterprise’s production resumption. It was learned that 70% of enterprises in the high-tech zone have resumed production, and implemented a series of prevention and control measures in response to the current situation. He said it is necessary to take such actions as timely reporting the conditions of employees; practicing routine ventilation and disinfection in densely populated places; and, scientifically arranging meals for employees. He requested to implement epidemic prevention measures for production resumption in all aspects and posts, and form the epidemic prevention and control network made by residential communities, industrial parks, and plants.

At the dispatching meeting, Governor Xu listened to the report on joint defense and control work. He emphasized Hunan Province has responded to the call of the CPC Central Committee to provide pairing-up support for Hubei Province. It was necessary to improve the counterpart support mechanism, and make good use of telemedicine, expert consultation, and other means. We should, working together with Huanggang government, ensure Hunan medical teams’ needs of protective materials, and become a strong backer for the “Hunan Medical Army” fighting in the frontline of the Hubei epidemic prevention and control work, he added.
