Changsha, April 15 (Changsha Evening Newspaper) -- The International Cooperation Forum on Resources and Environment, 2009 is to be held on April 18, and the venue for the opening ceremony, the Orange Islet, will not be open to the public for the coming three days. It is known from the Organizing Committee for the Forum that the symbol of the Forum——the Sundial of the World will settle down on the Orange Islet tomorrow. The Sundial, which evolves from an ancient timing device and implies that time and tide wait for no man in the pursuit of environmental protection, will be co-launched on the opening ceremony of April 18, by representatives from government, general public and enterprises.
The stele of the Xiangjiang River Declaration, with 396-character inscriptions, arrives in Changsha today.
The Sundial of the World and the stele of the Xiangjiang River Declaration will be kept as permanent remembrance after this Forum.
