Project content: From raw flax to spinnable fiber, ramie must go through boiling-off process. Since the working procedures of acid leaching, alkali boiling, beating and washing make the originally straight fiber become crimped and tangled, it is necessary to finish such working procedures as ramie pulling, loosening and carding before spinning to straighten the fiber, which causes long technical flow, much labor, high cost and low row yielding. Especially a large quantity of extra-long and double-long fiber exists in the ramie fiber, which causes difficulty to the spinning. When biological degumming technology is applied to produce straight ramie fiber, tow-to-yarn technology becomes possible. Although it is reported that people have made a research on the theory of carding-spinning technology, mature tow-to-yarn machine has not yet been applied. Therefore, it is necessary to research, design, manufacture and use by ourselves this tow-to-yarn technology and equipment to shorten the technical flow, obtain flat and straight ramie fiber with identical length and with no extra-long or double-long fiber, heighten the row yielding, improve the flax sliver quality and upgrade the ramie textiles. Main content: 1. perfect the technical design and mechanical design of the tow-to-yarn machine, manufacture ramie tow-to-yarn machine; 2. Carry out ramie tow-to-yarn spinning productive experiment; 3. work out technical process, test and analyze relevant spinning quality; 4. develop fine ramie yarn, weave high-grade fine ramie cloth.
Analysis of prospect: 1. Ramie is a characteristic resource industry of our country, 95% of the ramie of the world is produced in China. If tow-to-yarn technology is applied in the whole flax industry, the whole country has a demand of more than 2,000 tow-to-yarn machines. 2. For every 10,000 spindles, it means reducing labor by 152 persons, saving annual electricity consumption by 365,000KWH and heightening carding row yielding by 3 to 5 percentage points. 3. It will bring excellent effect to promote the development of local machinery manufacturing, save labor, reduce cost, strengthen the competitive strength of the ramie textiles and promote Yiyang’s ramie agricultural products to turn into textile consumables.
