Ancient trees like podocarpus macrophyllus, ginkgo, camphor and maple dating back to Jin, Tang, Song, Ming and Qing dynasties are scattered everywhere.

Aiwan (Autumn-admiring) Pavilion was originally built in 1792 during the reign of Emperor Qianlong. Altogether with Old Tippler's Pavilion in Anhui Province, Huxin (Mid-lake) Pavilion in West Lake and Taoranting Park (Joyful Pavilion) in Beijing, Aiwan Pavilion is known as one of the four pavilions in China.

As one of the four most prestigious academies in China, with a history of 1,000 years, Yuelu Academy is a famous institution of higher learning as well as a centre of academic activities, upholding cultures since it was formally set up in the ninth year of the Kai Bao Reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (976).

Tianxin Pavilion, located at the south gate of ancient Changsha City, is a national four-A level scenic spot and one of the most important historic sites in Changsha. The ancient wall in the pavilion enjoys a history of 2,200 years and the pavilion itself a history of more than 500 years. The pavilion is known as a landmark of Changsha since ancient times telling tales of the city's history.

Pozi Street is one of the most traditional food streets in Changsha, mirroring Huxiang folk customs, religious culture and catering culture of the city. Fire God Palace Restaurant is renowned as a time-honored traditional food restaurant. It is the best place to enjoy local snacks including stinky tofu and fried sweet glutinous rice paste.

As the world's longest inland river isle, Orange Isle connects Mount Yuelu in the west and the downtown in the east, with a length of 5km and a width of 50-200 meters. The statue of young Mao Zedong is a landmark of Orange Isle. It is made of more than 8,000 pieces of red granites brought in from south China’s Fujian Province and vividly imitates the portrait of young Mao Zedong in 1925.
