The Changsha Metro Line 3 (Phase I) started trial operation on June 28. It is a main line running from the southwest to the northeast of the Changsha metro network. Its total length is 36.5 kilometers. It starts in Shantang Station, Yuelu District, in the west and ends at Guangsheng Station in Changsha County in the east. There are 25 stations (all underground), including 4 transfer stations. The line decoration is themed “Green and Energetic Star City”. There are 6 featured stations.

The Metro Line 3 (Phase I) connects Yuelu, Tianxin, Yuhua, Furong, Kaifu Districts and Changsha County. It passes through Dawangshan Tourist Resort, Yanghu Ecological New Town, Yuelu Mountain University Town, Helong Sports Center, Houjiatang and Dongtang business areas, Changsha Railway Station, Hunan Martyrs Park, the National University of Defense Technology, Changsha University, Yuehu Park, Xingsha Commercial Center, and other important urban functional centers and hubs.

As the last “stroke” added to Changsha’s “Union Jack” shaped metro network, the line will play an important role in supporting and driving Changsha’s economic development.
