The photo, taken on January 10, shows picturesque view of Dongfeng Lake in Yueyang City after the improvement of the environment. Dongfeng Lake was regarded as the largest "black and malodorous water body" in the downtown area of Yueyang in the past.

In recent years, Yueyang has initiated five measures to improve ecological environment of the Dongfeng Lake. The measures include sewage interception, dredging, re-greening, turning fishing industry to lake, and strict management. The city has carried out lakeshore remediation, embankment restoration, and ecological landscape construction in accordance with urban park design standards. Currently the lake has been built into an ecological park with lucid water, green lakeshores, and beautiful scenery. (Photo/Xu Dianbo, Hunan Daily)
