The photo, taken on December 21, shows a group of migrant birds fly above the Baisheng Isle in South Dongting Lake, Yuanjiang. Since 2017, Yuanjiang has felled or removed large areas of populus nigra. The ecological environment has improved, which has attracted increasing migrant birds for overwintering. In 2020, the number of migrant birds in the South Dongting Lake Natural Reserve exceeds 30,000. Some rae and endangered species are seen, such as black storks and white cranes.
