The 2022 Hunan Publicity Month for Green Travel and Publicity Week for Public Transport were launched in Zhuzhou on the morning of September 22. It was learned from the opening ceremony that Hunan tops nationwide in the proportion of buses running on new energy.

There will be 7 activities, including green travel welfare publicity competition, public transport publicity week, and aging-friendly and barrier-free traffic travel services. The province's transportation industry authorities and public transportation companies will make full use of "Internet +" and other information technology methods to innovate and upgrade transportation services in light of local conditions.

It was said that all parts of Hunan are actively advocating green and low-carbon travel based on the actual situation. For example, Changsha has opened 20 community bus routes; Zhuzhou has basically formed a green travel system with "conventional public transport as the main body, non-motorized transportation as supplement, intercity railway as extension, and smart tram as the characteristics"; Changde has established "Party Member Demonstration Line", tourism special line, and "left-behind children's line"; and, Yongzhou has implemented "flight attendant-style" service, "smile service" and "car captain system" to meet the diverse needs of passengers.

As of the end of 2021, there were about 33,000 urban public transport vehicles provincewide. Among them, the new energy buses account for 95.88%, ranking first nationwide. In Changsha and Zhuzhou, all the buses were running on new energy.
