June 15, 2022 marks the 10th National Low-carbon Day. A National Low-carbon Day event was held at the Gongyuanli Community, Guanshaling Neighborhood, Yuelu District, Changsha that day. It was sponsored by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment and the Yuelu District People's Government.

"In summer, it is recommended to set our air conditioner to a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Try to take the bus or subway when commuting to or from work.” An energy-saving and carbon reduction initiative was read out, and the concept of low-carbon development was vigorously promoted.

Changsha has always been attaching great importance to addressing climate change. It has worked out the Changsha Low-carbon Development Plan and the 14th Five-Year Plan for Addressing Climate Change, and printed and issued the Work Plan for Changsha to Promote Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality. Low-carbon pilot work has been comprehensively advanced in various places, industrial parks, and communities. A number of low-carbon and emission reduction projects have been implemented successively. The "1+1+N+X" policy system is being gradually improved.  Changsha's carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP in 2020 plunged by over 20% from 2015. The city's ecological environment quality has been continuously improved, and "Changsha blue" has become the city's ecological background.
