2022-05-25 Download Print
The Hunan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment announced on May 23 that environmental facilities of 69 units across the province will be open to the public free of charge. People can make visits to such facilities by making a reservation on their mobile phone.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment, together with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, has promoted the opening of national environmental facilities and urban sewage and waste treatment facilities to the public since 2017. It aims to protect the public's right to know environmental information and to participate in and supervise environmental protection work.

This year, 11 units in Changsha, 6 in Zhuzhou, 5 each in Xiangtan, Hengyang, Yueyang, and Yiyang, and 4 each in other cities and prefecture have granted the public free access to their environmental facilities, involving ecological environment monitoring facilities, urban domestic sewage treatment facilities, urban domestic waste treatment facilities, and hazardous waste and waste electrical and electronic products treatment facilities.

People can make reservations as individual or group visitors via a mini program named "Opening Environmental Facilities to the Public". When people scan OR codes during the visit, the mini program will record their travel information.
