A Hunan Nanshan National Park Standard System passed expert review recently, according to the Nanshan National Park administration.

Seven experts from the National Forest and Grassland Administration reviewed the formulation process, main technical parameters, and opinion collection of the formulation unit. They agreed that this standard system, with comprehensive content and scientific structure, will be significant to promoting construction of a national park system and high-standard national parks, forming a scientific overall layout of national parks, and safeguarding national ecological security. It also provides guides for coordinating mountains, waters, forests, farmland, lakes and grassland; keeping the ecosystem intact; and, boosting pilot work.

The Nanshan National Park Administration official said that, they will further optimize the standard system based on experts’ suggestions. The system is in a “1+7” structure – a sub-system of fundamental standards plus ecological protection, natural resources and assets management, licensed businesses, social participation, sci-tech research and popularization, cultural inheritance, and sub-systems of park management standards. They will try to make the system more practical, targeted, and operable, to push forward the pilot work of such standard system.
