The Changsha Water Group launched the 2021 “World Water Day” and “China Water Week” themed activities on March 22. Its five major waterworks – Houzishi, Liaojia Citang, Nantuo, Xiufeng, and Wangcheng waterworks – opened to public on the day.

On that morning, nearly 100 resident, student, volunteer, and media representatives visited the Houzishi Waterworks. They observed the water treatment techniques and process, and water quality monitoring. Some water-saving themed interactive games were organized to strengthen visitors’ awareness of conserving, cherishing, and protecting water.

Between March 23 and 28, the group will organize observation tours on secondary water supply, water purification and treatment, beach cleaning campaign, and water service in communities. Beyond that, an online poster collection was inaugurated on the WeChat account “长沙水业96533”. It invited participators to design their own posters to promote water saving.

The 29th World Water Day fell on March 22 this year, and the 34th China Water Week lasts between March 22 and 28. The theme of the week is “thoroughly implementing new development philosophy, and promoting intensive and safe use of water resources”.
