State Media Groups Report Changsha Rivers and Lakes

On October 10, the 2019 National Network Interview Activity themed “Beautiful Rivers and Lakes” was launched in Changsha. The event was hosted by the Network News Information and Communication Bureau of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, and General Office of the Ministry of Water Resources; and organized by the Changsha Municipal People’s Government, Shaoxing Municipal People’s Government, and Putian Municipal People’s Government. 
 
The event was attended by 14 central news websites including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China.org.cn, and CCTV. Reporters visited beautiful rivers and lakes in Changsha, Shaoxing and Putian, and presented their coverage in various online forms such as special reports, themed news, Weibo topics, micro videos, documentary, H5, and panoramic VR. The coverage will be translated into 8 languages of English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, and Korean, and posted on PC, mobile, and overseas social media, in order to present the achievements in building beautiful rivers and lakes to the world.
 
The activity aims to widely publicize the implementation of President Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization, and firmly establish the principle that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. It gives priority to ecology and green development, and promotes the river and lake chief system, so as to create an exemplary model of river and lake management and protection. The reports will focus on the system’s impact on the ecological management in rivers and lakes and changes in people’s live, in order to create a sound network public opinion environment for building a beautiful China.
 
After the launching ceremony, the interview group visited 10 sites including Zhulian Village of Guandu Town in Liuyang City, Panlongling Village of Qiaokou Town in Wangcheng District, and Houhu Area in Yuelu District. On-the-spot interviews were conducted on Changsha’s small and micro water body management and protection, Liuyang River Basin comprehensive management, and Xiangjiang River Changsha section comprehensive treatment.
