Overseas Chinese Consultants Sit on CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee Session

Between January 22 and 27, four overseas Chinese consultants for Hunan development attended the First Session of the 12th CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee. On behalf of overseas Chinese, they gave suggestions on the rise of Hunan through opening up.

In October 2017, the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee founded the overseas Chinese advisory group for Hunan development. The group is consisted of 11 famous scholars, leaders of overseas Chinese, and entrepreneurs.

Ms Chen Ping, vice president of the International Organization of Folk Art and a scholar living in Germany offered her suggestions on innovation and development of Hunan traditional handicrafts, and proposed to make excellent Huxiang culture go abroad. Her opinions were commonly agreed upon by many CPPCC members.

Hunan-born Richard Yuan, CEO of ABC World Pty Ltd, has been engaged in immigration and overseas study for more than ten years. He expected to introduce advanced Australian vocational education system to Hunan, so as to train more highly-skilled blue-collar workers who can serve both Hunan and the world.

Morgan Stanley Vice President Ouyang Feipeng and Poland Wosi Group Chairman Zeng Xiaohui focused on Hunan’s overseas industrial cooperation.

CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee Chairwoman Li Weiwei hoped that the overseas Chinese advisory group would give full play to its role to deepen economic and cultural exchanges with related foreign organizations, media think tanks, eminent figures, and ordinary people, in a bid to enhance Hunan’s international influence.
