The Hunan-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in Hong Kong on April 17, 2019. It was one of the major events of the Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Investment and Trade Conference. Hunan Vice Governor He Baoxiang attended and spoke to the meeting. He hoped Hong Kong and Hunan would deepen cooperation in financial product innovation and personnel training, to jointly explore global market. Hong Kong continues to play an active role in helping Hunan enterprises and products go global.

Hunan’s key investment and promotion projects for 2019 were released. Among them, there were 238 modern service industrial projects, with a total investment of about 666 billion CNY. They involve textile, chemical, medical, trade and logistics, cultural tourism, finance, modern logistics, health and pension industries.

Vice Governor He remarked that, as of this March, Hong Kong had invested in more than 5,300 enterprises in Hunan, with an investment volume accounted for half of the provincial utilized foreign investment. Hong Kong is Hunan’s main foreign investment destination and largest trading partner. The mutual collaboration has gradually expanded to such fields as social management, scientific and technological innovation, culture, and education. The exchanges and cooperation is unprecedentedly convenient and active.

He said, “Hunan has a solid foundation for real economy while Hong Kong has a complete modern service industry. Both sides have broad space for industrial cooperation. The advantages in Hunan’s manufacturing industry and Hong Kong’s service industry can be combined. Various actions such as modern service industry transformation and upgrading plan, and ‘Hunan service’ brand building, can thus been implemented.” He promised that Hunan government would provide enterprises with more preferential policies, practical measures, and better services.
