Key Investment Projects to Be Announced During 2019 Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Investment and Trade Conference

The Hunan Provincial People’s Government Information Office held a press conference on April 4. The Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce announced the preparations of the 2019 Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Investment and Trade Conference which will take place between April 15 and 19. 

 

So far, more than 5,000 businessmen have been confirmed to participate. They include executives of Fortune Global 500 companies such as Hewlett-Packard (HP), Flex Ltd., Continental AG, Fresenius, Shell, Siemens, Samsung, Electricite De France (EDF), Temasek, Maersk, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and Foxconn; president of Fresenius Asia Pacific Region; chairmen of the Board of Directors of QuaTernes Group, Amer International Group, and iFree Group (HK) Limited; and enterprise representatives from 13 countries and regions. 

 

Sixty-five Fortune Global 500 companies, 55 Top 500 Chinese enterprises, and 39 Top 500 private enterprises will attend.  

 

The conference will promote 597 Hunan’s key investment projects worth nearly 2.3 trillion CNY. The projects of four main categories — infrastructure, new industrialization, modern service industry, and agricultural development, are high-quality and feasible. A number of important cooperation achievements have been reached at the preparation stage. 

 

A total of 450 investment projects worth 403.87 billion CNY are expected to be contracted, bringing in an investment of 392.96 billion CNY. Of the 182 provincial projects, 33 worth 84.85 billion CNY will be invested by top 500 enterprises. 

 

Beyond that, a number of trade contracts regarding cross-border e-commerce and parallel imports of cars will be inked. 

 

Cooperation results in overseas financing and talent recruitment are expected to be made.
