Governor Xu Meets with Guests from Cote d’ Ivoire and Nigeria

On June 28, Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, met in Changsha with Souleymane Diarrassouba, minister of Commerce, Industry, and SME Promotion of Cote d' Ivoire, and Alhaji Badaru Abubakar, governor of the Jigawa State of Nigeria. The two distinguished guests came to Hunan for the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE).

Hunan is vigorously implementing the “eight major initiatives” with African countries, and taking Hunan-Africa cooperation as a key to expanding high-level opening up, and building Hunan into a new innovation and opening up highland in Chinese inland, Governor Xu said during his meeting with Diarrassouba. Hunan will take this opportunity to organize “an ongoing expo”, to promote China-Africa exchange and collaboration, deepen friendship, push China-Africa economic and trade cooperation to a new high, and contribute to a stronger China-Africa community with a shared future. 
 
Cote d' Ivoire is a pearl in west Africa. It has abundant natural resource, and good climate conditions, and sees rapid economic growth and improving business environment in recent years. Hunan and Cote d' Ivoire have made a sound momentum of cooperation in personnel exchange and trade. 
Xu hoped that Hunan and Cote d’ Ivoire will further intensify cultural exchange, make use of complementary advantages of each sides, to conduct substantial cooperation in agriculture, seed industry, infrastructure construction, tourism, and trade.

Governor Xu led a delegation to Nigeria last June, and signed a letter of intent to establish friendly province-state relationship with Jigawa. During this expo, the official agreement of the friendly province-state relationship was reached. 
 
Xu hoped that, under the framework of the friendly province-state relationship, Hunan and Jigawa will use the opportunity that the expo brings, and concentrate on economic and trade cooperation of enterprises, to enable closer ties, and broader cooperation and exchange in economic and trade, culture, agricultural machinery, medicine, petroleum processing, and infrastructure construction. He expected to push Hunan-Jigawa cooperation to a new level, as a sample for China-Nigeria local cooperation, so as to contribute to deepening China-Africa cooperation, and consolidating China-Africa friendship in the new era. 
 
Diarrassouba talked about the broad prospects and huge potential in Hunan and Cote d’ Ivoire. He expected to, based on this expo, learn from Hunan in agricultural product processing and new industrialization, and enhance exchange and cooperation with Hunan in economy and trade, tourism, and culture, so as to benefit both people. 
 
Abubakar marked that Jigawa has reached cooperation intention with several Hunan enterprises. In the future, Jigawa will continue to play an active role in participating in CAETE, and expand the friendly province-state relationship to all-round exchange and cooperation, to push the bilateral relations to a new high. 
 
Cote d’ Ivoire minister of Tourism & Handicrafts Sidiki Konate, Jigawa State senator Hadija, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Standing Committee member and executive vice governor Xie Jianhui, and Hunan Provincial People’s Government secretary general Wang Qun, attended the meetings.
