On June 26, an African media group arrived in Changsha to conduct a five-day interview for the 1st China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE). Journalists from mainstream media in 33 African countries including Uganda, Kenya, and Somalia will report CAETE activities. Later they will visit Shaoshan, the Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center, and Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. for field visits and interviews.

 

"When talking about Hunan and Africa, you must be familiar with Mao Zedong, Yuan Longping, Africa medical aid team, and Hunan Satellite TV," said the person in charge of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee at the meeting. He also shared with the media group about Chairman Mao Zedong’s connection with Africa, Academician Yuan Longping’s contribution to African countries, Hunan’s anti-Ebola aid in Africa, and African stories released by Hunan media. 

 

He hoped that the media group will serve as a friendly envoy of China-Africa exchanges and cooperation, report on the expo and its achievement objectively and comprehensively, and disseminate Chinese and African stories to let more African people know about Hunan and China. This will help build a China-Africa community with a shared future. 

 

At the meeting, the person in charge of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce also briefed on the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.
