The Belt & Road Business Summit on Infrastructure and Construction Machinery, an important activity of the 2019 Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (CICEE), was held in Changsha on May 15. Hunan Vice Governor He Baoxiang attended and delivered a speech.

At the summit, ambassadors, envoys, and counsellors of Syria, Algeria, and other countries to China introduced their infrastructure investment projects and policies. Senior executives of the leading enterprises in the field of construction machinery and engineering contracting shared their cases and experiences in developing the markets in “Belt and Road” countries. They also discussed how the financial industry can help boost the “Belt and Road” infrastructure projects. Diplomats and merchants from more than 20 countries and regions including Egypt, Russia, and Kazakhstan attended.

Vice Governor He said that in recent years, Hunan’s construction machinery and construction industry enterprises have responded to the internationalization trend and participated in the international market. The phenomenon of Hunan enterprises “going global” has thus emerged, who also won the reputation of “Hunan construction force” and “Hunan electricity force”.

In 2018, the turnover of Hunan enterprises in contracting projects and labor cooperation along the “Belt and Road” route reached 8.46 billion USD, an increase of 20.1%. The prefabricated building technology and products were exported to more than 20 “Belt and Road” countries. Hunan hopes to take this business summit as an opportunity to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the “Belt and Road” countries in infrastructure and construction equipment, and integrate into the global market with a more open attitude.
